MusicLocal Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 30, 2026

About MusicLocal

MusicLocal is a public local-music directory operated by MusicLocal, Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation. These Terms govern your use of musiclocal.org and the MusicLocal apps for iOS and Android (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and Accounts

Public browsing does not require an account. You must be at least 13 to create one. If you are 13 through 17, you may create and use an account only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you use MusicLocal for an organization, you represent that you have authority to act for it.

Keep your account information accurate and protect access to your sign-in methods. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from MusicLocal's failure to use reasonable security.

Contributing to the Directory

Contributions are proposals to a moderated public knowledge base, not private storage. MusicLocal may review, edit, combine, reject, withdraw, or remove a proposal to improve accuracy, safety, relevance, and consistency. Submission does not guarantee publication.

You retain ownership of content you contribute. While a draft or proposal is under review, you give MusicLocal a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display to reviewers, and modify it as needed to evaluate the proposal.

If MusicLocal accepts content, you give MusicLocal a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and irrevocable license to host, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and preserve that accepted content and its revision history as part of the Service and MusicLocal's nonprofit work. This license lets the public directory remain understandable and trustworthy even if you later delete your account.

MusicLocal does not currently publish contributions under a Creative Commons or other public-content license. Nothing in these Terms transfers your ownership to MusicLocal.

Your Responsibilities

Only submit information and media you have the right to share. Do not submit illegal, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, exploitative, or privacy-invasive content; malicious code; personal information that does not belong in a public directory; or content that infringes another person's rights.

Do not scrape or access the Service in a way that unreasonably burdens it, evade access controls, impersonate others, manipulate analytics or moderation, or use MusicLocal to send spam or advertise unrelated products. Reasonable linking and ordinary use of public listings are welcome.

Public History and Account Deletion

Deleting your account removes or de-identifies your profile and private account-side information. Accepted public contributions, accepted revision history, and media needed by those records remain as part of the directory and are attributed to "Deleted contributor." Unfinished proposals and private review data are removed from the product. The full process is described on our Account Deletion page.

Contact us if accepted content creates a privacy, safety, ownership, or legal concern. MusicLocal may correct, restrict, or remove public content when appropriate.

Accuracy and Third-Party Services

MusicLocal is community-maintained. Event times, prices, lineups, locations, and availability can change, and we do not guarantee that every listing is complete or current. Confirm important details with the organizer or venue.

The Service may link to or embed services operated by others, including venues, ticket providers, social platforms, maps, Apple, Google, and YouTube. Their services and terms are their responsibility.

Enforcement and Ending Access

We may limit or end access, remove content, or take other reasonable action when we believe these Terms, law, safety, or the integrity of the directory require it. Where appropriate, we will try to explain the action and provide a way to contact us. You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time.

Disclaimers and Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MusicLocal and its directors, volunteers, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the Service. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

Changes and Governing Law

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the updated Terms and change the date above. Material changes will receive more prominent notice when reasonably practical. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Florida law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
